AmigaOS 3.2 NDK update available

 

Brussels – March 8, 2022 – For immediate release

Hyperion Entertainment is pleased to announce the immediate availability of another update to the Native Developer Kit (NDK) for AmigaOS 3.2. This R4 update of the AmigOS 3.2 NDK is a testament to our continued dedication to support the AmigaOS 3.2 ecosystem.

The R4 update of the Native Developer Kit for AmigaOS 3.2 includes:

 

  • Better integration with VBCC, Manx, Aztec and GCC compilers
  • Updated “include files” for AmigaOS 3.2.1 changes
  • General improvements
  • More example code
  • Newly researched documentation for operating system functions never covered in the past 35+ years
  • New developer documentation detailing the operating system interfaces and header files as well as documentation on how to make the best use of memory pools (with full source code).

 

AmigaOS NDK 3.2 R4 is available for free from our download area here.

AmigaOS NDK 3.2 R4 will also be made accessible in other venues to pursue greater adoption and wider availability by the AmigaOS development community.

New AmigaOS 4.1 SDK 53.34 available now

Hyperion Entertainment is very pleased to announce the immediate availability of a new and updated Software Developer Kit (SDK) for the latest version of AmigaOS 4.1. (i.e. after applying all the publicly released updates).

This new SDK replaces all older versions of the SDK as well as any updates thereof as everything is included such as (but not limited to):

  • ExecSG SDK 54.26 (10.12.2021)
  • AmiSSL 4.11 SDK
  • MUI-5.0-20210831 SDK
  • DOS SDK 54.117 (14.10.2021)
  • Updated header and documentation files (as of 22.11.2021).

 

Hyperion Entertainment wishes to extend its special thanks and appreciation to George Sokianos as well as the AmigaOS 4.x development team for making this happen.

Please note that at this time GCC and the other tools were not yet updated but are scheduled for release with a new version of the SDK in the course of 2022.

This NDK update contains further reviewed contents to ensure developers using several different compilers will be able to harness all the new features AmigaOS 3.2 brings.

This release also paves the way for a continued flow of updates to the Native Developer Kit for AmigaOS 3.2 which will also be accessible in other venues to pursue greater adoption and wider availability.

AmigaOS 3.2.1 update available

Hyperion Entertainment CVBA is proud to provide the first free update of AmigaOS 3.2. It demonstrates our dedication to ensure that AmigaOS 3.2 is the most capable and most stable operating system ever for the 68K based Amigas. If you have do not already own a copy of AmigaOS 3.2, there is now even more reason to get one from your favourite dealer!

AmigaOS 3.2.1 fixes several bugs and additionally comes with new features. The team of developers and testers have worked ever since the release of AmigaOS 3.2 fixing bugs and implementing new features. They have read social platforms for user anecdotes, videos and reviews, and are excited by the positive reception and feedback.

The AmigaOS 3.2.1 update is available NOW.

While no new ROM images are provided, we do not suggest that you go buy new ROMs. If you are already using some kind of MapROM solution or if you or a friend have an EPROM burner, then go ahead. But it is possible that more ROM changes be rolled out in AmigaOS 3.2.2 so for everyone else we suggest that you use the file-based updating instead.

Here are the highlights of the new features and fixes of AmigaOS 3.2.1:

 

  • Fixes to almost every single gadget and image class
  • Fix to clipboard.device that since AmigaOS 3.1.4 would not handle clips above 16KB in some cases
  • Important fix to locale.library that would convert signed values to unsigned
  • New IconEdit with support for colorful icons (like the “GlowIcons”)
  • TextEdit has gained an ARexx port per open document
  • ShowConfig had its GUI reworked, and can now make reports in AmigaGuide format
  • The RAM disk linking feature have been changed a bit so it seems more like AmigaOS 3.1.4 while still being copy on read as in AmigaOS 3.2
  • Dropping files on console will now activate the console window
  • The screen will no longer remain black if you start up without any attached drive
  • Eject menu item in Workbench;
